In 1998, the remarkable story of Marty Ravellette was told to the nation in this Today Show exclusive. Although born without arms. Marty lived a full life as a husband, father, a landscaper and the hero to an elderly woman whom he rescued from a burning car. Marty later appeared on the Rosie O’Donnell Show and was featured in a one hour documentary on the Discovery Channel. He later died while driving a van in 2007. I researched, field produced and helped write this story.

In addition to organizing clean-ups, lobbying state and local leaders for environmental protections, and educating the public, the HRA hosts elementary school children with a field trips called “The Learning Celebration.” This video publicizes their program to area teachers and potential donors. I shot, wrote and edited this video.

In my hometown of Chatham County, a majority of county commissioners upset preservationists, smart growth advocates, and environmentalists by allowing rampant development to overtake a once-rural county. A group of concerned citizens rallied to vote them out, as well as this gerrymandering scheme to return them to power. This video popularized the issue and helped get out the vote, which we won. I shot, wrote and edited this story.
